Outcome: Initiation phase well received by senior management thanks to strong regulatory and pre-clinical data; however, the project was put on hold due to a change of corporate strategy.

Stage Gate Process for Consumer Health/OTC

  • Objective: Adapt the existing Stage Gate methodology Philip Morris designed for tobacco products to Consumer Health/OTC developments.

  • Internal project, no team

Outcome: Project completed and praised by business unit management. The contents were extensively re-used in the Stage Gate process designed for Vectura Fertin Pharma.

Inhaled Epinephrine for Anaphylaxis

  • Objective: Design an inhalable Rx product to treat acute anaphylaxis in lieu of injectable solutions, to be launched in both US and EU.

  • Budget: USD 20 Mio (excluding clinical studies)

  • Role: Project Manager (ad interim for 6 months)

  • Team: 8 SME

  • Functions involved: Regulatory, Medical, Pre-clinical, R&D, Quality, Procurement

Outcome: Patient insights completed when I handed over the project to my successor.

ATTR-CM Website for Healthcare Professionals in Switzerland

  • Objective: Design a website (adapted from the US version) intended for cardiologists, to raise awareness of ATTR-CM, on both computer and mobile platforms.

Account Planning Excellence Framework

  • Objective: Design and implement an Account Planning Excellence framework used by key account managers in 69 countries, to enhance and support the translation of account strategy into execution, thus facilitating both the acquisition and the retention of patients with rare diseases and increasing sales and customer engagement.

  • Budget: USD 200K

  • Role: Project Manager and SME (key account management excellence)

  • Team: 4 SME, 4 pilot user team, 1 external agency for tool development

  • Functions involved: Sales, Commercial Excellence, Medical, Market Access, Training, Compliance

Outcome: Quality of Account Plans fully improved. The framework was praised by both sales forces and senior management for its simplicity and efficiency and particularly for enabling the internal cross-functional collaboration needed to strengthen the partnership with an account by delivering concrete value-based propositions through assessment of customer needs.

Implementation of Mobile Intelligence CRM for MSL

  • Objective: Translate the successful implementation of CRM and business analytics used by sales forces to the MSL organisation by adapting both configuration and processes to the medical needs and by leading the change management aspects to upscale the MSL.

  • Budget: USD 50K

  • Role: Project Manager and SME (sales force effectiveness)

  • Team: 1 external agency, 3 SME, 1 MSL in each country

  • Functions involved: Commercial Excellence, Medical, Compliance

Outcome: CRM and processes positively adopted by the MSL thanks to a successful pilot and a solid hyper care phase. MSL dashboards capturing HCP interests on scientific topics helped the organisation retailor their messages.

Implementation of Business Analytics for Sales Forces

  • Objective: Develop a central reporting tool for both field force and business performance management, including the design of KPI, master dashboards, and score cards, the implementation and roll-out of the tool in affiliates, and the training of sales forces and business analysts.

  • Budget: USD 2 Mio

  • Role: Project Manager and SME (business analytics)

  • Team: 1 external agency, 4 SME, Sales management teams in each country

  • Functions involved: Commercial Excellence, Sales, Medical, Market Access, Compliance, General Management

Outcome: Increased sales force effectiveness thanks to actionable dashboards which allowed commercial and medical teams to focus on priority accounts and to set up activities accordingly.

Outcome: Project successfully delivered. No employee faced any issue on the first day in the new office. Senior management (including then-CEO Lars Rebien Sørensen) praised the smooth and issue-free delivery during the inauguration.
